4th Annual IDOT Career Day--Springfield

The Illinois Department of Transportation Career Day is a workforce development tool designed to introduce high school students to careers in the transportation industry.  Through hands-on activities, exhibits and heavy equipment demonstrations, local high school students will have the opportunity to learn about several exciting transportation-related careers.

The Career Day is from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Exposition Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield IL.   For more information, contact Diana Baldi at diana@innovationtrainer.com.

Come to the Destination ImagiNation booth to find out more about the AEM Construction Challenge sponsored by Volvo Equipment.  Try your hand at an Instant Challenge and then form a team to compete at the Chicago Regional Rally on January 15th.  Teams of 5 to 7 high school students can register NOW for $125 at http://www.shopdi.org/index.php?main_page=events_product_info&cPath=109&products_id=881.

The competition is designed so that with 6 to 8 hours of preparation, any team from tech ed to pre-engineering and anyone in between can be successful the day of the Regional Rally.  Advancing teams will receive a travel stipend and all materials needed for the project to be presented at the Construction Challenge Finals in Las Vegas March 21-25th.  The Finals take place at ConExpo/ConAGG, one of the largest conventions in the world.  Meet the sponsors, see the equipment, and get the experience of a lifetime!
